Am i allowed to use other artists instrumentals on a mixtape?

i always hear other rappers rapping on mixtapes n they use everybody elses beats(thats y its a mixtape) but do they have 2 pay for tha beats 2 b able 2 use em or have permission?
am i goin 2 have 2 use original beats jus make a street album?

    if its just a mixtape then yeah you can use already used beats.. almost every mixtape uses at least a few

    theres always the possibility of getting a lawsuit

    a street album maybe depends on how you distribute it the only way you can be sued is if you use the beats and promote them as your own to make profit many rappers use other people beats in freestyles because alot of the time those freestyle or mixtapes are free no profit just exposure or buzz
